About Trinity Washington University

Trinity Washington University is a private Roman Catholic university located in Washington, DC, which is the capital of the United States, having a population estimated at a number of more than 599 500 inhabitants, which rises at over 1 million, during the workweek, because of commuters. Washington is located on the north bank of the Potomac River and it's bordered by the states of Virginia to the southwest and Maryland to the other sides.

Trinity Washington was founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, in 1897, and its original mission was to educate middle-class Catholic women, who were underrepresented in America's colleges.

Today, the university enrolls both male and female students, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, its offerings including academic programs in areas such as criminal justice, forensic psychology, journalism, and business economics, 300 professional development courses, and degrees such as Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Master of Science Administration (M.S.A.), Master of Arts in Communication and Master of Science in Information Security Management.

Athletics

The athletic teams at Trinity Washington University are known as the Trinity Tigers, which compete in NCAA Division III, in sports which include cross country, basketball, tennis, soccer, swimming and volleyball. Their distinctive colors are purple and gold.
